Homemade solution for the underbite

My Egg friend had an underbite and came up with his own solution. He doesn't post on the site so I'm sharing this. He ran a piece of all thread through both sides of the spring bolts and bolted them together. He used captured washer nuts on the ends and then double bolts on the inside the keep the springs in place. Works great. Better than new. Here's a pic.

I think, over time, the bolts bent up or loosened and couldn't get tight again. Maybe one or all of those items. I'll check mine. I have a little underbite as well.

He feels the load is distributed over the whole piece of allthread, instead of straining the short bolts.

maybe it helps stabilize the two lower pivots, it almost looks like the thd rod is flexing up in tension but could be an illusion

Crank that bad boy up to 700 plus and see if it holds. If it works, great. No clue why but at that point, I wouldn't care. My bolts are bent up. That's got to be why I have a slight under bite.I like my butt rubbed and my pork pulled.

Thanks for that PRECISE picture. BTW those bolts are cheap to replace at any decent hardware store - NOT a big box "from China" store though.

Or, with a piece of all thread.....

Can't wait for the tested results. In my mind I think it's a very good idea.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

I have underbite and my bolts for the hinge aren't bent at all like the ones shown in pic, so that won't do nothing for me I would venture to say.GreggLarge BGE Owner since December of 2013!
