OT First hole in one

After 46 years of playing golf I got my first hole in one on Tuesday! Lipped one out before this, but never had one drop in. Was playing with a buddy of mine who hits it a bit farther than me. 190 yard hole, he hit a 5-wood first to the back of the green. Pin was front right, so I just tried to put a smooth swing on my 5-wood. Hit it well, slight draw, and while in the air I was telling it to get over the bunker just in front. It landed over the bunker about 2 yards short of the green, took one hop onto the green, and rolled right in, perfect speed. I could see the whole thing, and went nuts after it dropped.

Fantastic! Here's hoping you don't wait another 46 years before your next one.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

Congrats. I hit my only hole in one on a similar shot with a 6 wood. I never hit that club straight again after that, and I had to retire it.

Thanks all! I got real lucky on the drinks afterwards, we had a package deal that included 4 beers, and the bar was not crowded afterwards so the tab was less than $20 for one round of drinks.LBGE, platesetter, Stoker wifi, StokerX Mac software, Pit Pal for iOS, @HerringBigEgg on Twitter, joined forum in 2008Austin, TX

@SaltySam Thanks on the hashtag, my dad started me playing when I was 9. Some of my best memories of him were times we had on the course. It was during dinner Tuesday evening that I thought about him; he passed away 3 years back. I know he's still smiling with me about it!LBGE, platesetter, Stoker wifi, StokerX Mac software, Pit Pal for iOS, @HerringBigEgg on Twitter, joined forum in 2008Austin, TX

Congrats! tried to play golf for a couple years. Just could not get into it. Spent more time searching the woods then I did on the fairway. But I have to be honest I really never understood the drink thing. If you hit a hole in one I think people should buy your drinks.Henderson TN. 1 large BGE, 1 Webber Gasser (recently seems to have converted into a warming oven)

What course is that? I don't play myself, but I have friends up north that came down to Austin to golf last the winter.
They did Avery Ranch on Parmer, and Riverside.
Plus a night of drinking and driving at Top Golf.

Golf has never been gracious to me, but to my friends, only slightly so. I am ok with that. I now know one more person that has eagled a one, and that is so cool. Mine may never happen, it is the journey, the people and the stories. I do love the game.
Congratulations on a well played, strategically thought out shot."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Congrats, I had one a few years back only issue was I was playing by myself and no witness...guess it did not happen.

Congrats! You're absolutely right about #dadissmilingfromheaven. I got one about 20 years ago when I was out playing with my dad. The old man took off like a shot down the hill towards the green whooping it up like he'd sunk it himself. I've never seen him move so fast in my life. Be sure to get the ball mounted, I still smile every time I see mine.
