the butcher shops in my area are 3.99-5.99 a pound just depends on grade. I also have the largest Wagyu breeder in my area, and he's $19 a pound I believe.XL BGE, KJ classic, Joe Jr, UDS x2

In Hawaii (Honolulu) on vacation we stopped at Costco for some supplies. Peaked in the meat department, had prime packers for $3.49 and full pork bellies for 2.99. We don't have that in utah

If I could find anything around the price point you all are getting I would gladly purchase. Even Costco is high at about $7.99. These are all 'flat' prices, packers are extremely hard to find.
Thanks for the tip! I am going to try that, really great savings there! I will start with GFS, though have been thinking of joining RD for awhile so that will happen too!Medium BGE in Cincinnati OH.

Ugh would love to have a costco that sells them but I guess 5.50 is in the ball park.

Carolina Q said:...On top of which, and I never noticed this before, it had 16 g of saturated fat! In a lousy 4 oz serving! That's 79% of the recommended limit for the day, so I wouldn't eat it anyway. Sodium's good though, until you add the 50/50 salt and pepper rub. Last time I bought a brisket, I didn't have to pay attention to that kind of stuff. Now, doc says I do.
...
Can't argue with the sodium though...we'll slather it with salt.

I just got back from a tour around Little Rock looking for some flats, which I couldn't find. Edwards had prime angus packers at $5/pound, Walmart had choice at $3, and Kroger only had the little corned beef packages.
Walmart did have tri-tip, which I hadn't seen around here previously. It was $7 per pound. -
