Should I get the igrill 2?

I've been looking into a thermometer with probes for a while now. I like that you can have 4 probes and it has a "Pro Ambient Temperature Probe" that looks pretty cool. I also like that you can check on your phone...Any other recommendations would be cool.

I ordered one that should be here Monday. I have read a lot of good things about them so I thought why not give it a try. Amazon has them on sale for 79.99. I wanted one for strictly one purpose. I like to cook whole clod (all 3 heads intact). This will let me monitor all 3 sections simultaneously as well as the temp of Unit #1. Again I haven't received or used one yet, but from what I have read, it sounds like a winner to me.

I have an igrill I love it pit temp + food temp is nice. My only issue is its wifi which I do like but the range I don't think is a great as some non-wi-fi models. Other than that it's great I con monitor on my iPad or iPhone. I have no experience with any other types sorry.

Doc, which do you have? The igrill2 or the mini? Just curious because I ordered the igrill2.

@SGH - If you don't mind, please post the clod cook with the 3 probes. I'll be interested in the results and how the temps track in the 3 sections.

I'm curious as well. The ability to monitor 3 different locations is what raised my interest in the igrill2. I hope it works as advertised. If it does, it will take a lot of probing and aggravation out of clod cooking. Really that's the only time I will ever use it. Clod only.

I have an iGrill2. Works pretty well. Bluetooth connection cuts in and out somedays - can't tell if it is the iGrill or the iPad that is responsible. The probes have color coded silicon on them to help identify each probe. Of course, smoke sticks to silicon real well, so they all take on a nice smoke color after a cook or two.

I regularly use one of the probes in place of the standard BGE dome thermometer.  Fits nicely and lets me monitor dome temp remotely. I prop my iPad in a cookbook holder while working inside to keep track of how things are progressing on the egg.

OK, but please excuse my ignorance.  I can see the picture of a big piece of bloody red meat, but I still don't know what cut of meat it is.  Can ANY big piece of bloody red meat be a clod. Please clarify. :|
