Beef Price and Cattle Rustling

Thought this article might be interesting. Mostly about cattle rustling in Texas, but there's a good chart showing beef prices over the past 20 years. The demand for brisket has doubled the price. Not that every piece of beef hasn't gone up, but the cost of a whole brisket is daunting now.

its us yankees watching bbq shows =) packers up here have been expensive for years, we are used to those high brisket prices. when i got my egg in 2002 choice packer brisket was over 4 bucks a pound. i think it was 5.39 when i was looking at it a few weeks ago which isnt high considering how we get ripped off up here, choice ribeye was 10.99 but i bet its higher this week
