Just curious as to what wood is your favorite to smoke chicken wings with. Have used cherry only for a good while with excellent results. Decided to try something new this evening and mixed pecan and apple and it was excellent! Possibly even better than cherry alone. What is your preference?

Really like the way peach smells when it's burning. Really sweet.

I take that back. I did use peach on cheese once and did also enjoy the smell/results...... never used it on meat.Upstate SC

I have used cherry and apple quite a bit. Now I seem to be on a mesquite kick. I get the egg up to temp (400-450 degrees), lift out the Woo set-up and put one handful of chips around the inside of the fire ring. The smoke lasts just long enough to give a nice flavor.L x2, M, S, Mini and a Blackstone 36. She says I have enough now....eggAddict from MN!

If you make "Buffalo Sauce" with Valentina Mexican hot sauce instead of Frank's Original (4:2:1 - hot sauce:butter:sugar) a touch of mesquite for the wing cook builds on that Mexican flavour. Just a few pieces of mesquite tossed in with a neutral lump or maybe one or two small pieces of smoke wood works.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

I like cherry and lately, white oak on chicken. Actually, white oak has become my new favorite on everything! As for wings, I have never cooked them. Ever. Well, except when cooking a whole bird and the wings were still attached. More trouble than they're worth.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I get the happiest reaction just going with a little hickory for the wingsMSV Chill Spot

I've used pecan, peach, cherry, apple. I think I mostly don't like smoke on wings, but sometimes I may toss a handful of apple pellets in the fire, they give a real short, intense blast of smoke and burn up quickly.

I used to use OSB, but the glue flavor didn't agree with SWMBO. So I'll add a little fruit wood.
