Just a little 2 lb steak and some crab stuffed tomatos and cuke

on the coals

in the fire

all done cooking

first cut

This why I like Caveman, good char but very very little overcooked
on the outside

I'm done, sorry I couldn't finish it all SGH.

Brother that is down right impressive right there. Outstanding looking grub. You knocked that way out of the park. I just ate a steak and some country style ribs, but looking at this is making me hungry again. Solid all the way around. This easily earns the double SGH seal of approval my friend. Outstanding job!!

I'm going to let him slide for not eating it all for doing such a great job on the cook. But you are correct, I about tear up when I see meat remaining on the plate.

I talked my local butcher into trying some "Prime Certified Angus" from a new source.  I had to buy the whole rack (9 2+ lb steaks) for the outragious price of $8.50 a lb.  I'll be picking up another rack on Monday.

Nicely done!  Someday I will attempt that cook, but I need to get braver first.

Very nice. That steak looks great. I like this new crab stuffing trend. Only thing missing is the fork.

Awesome looking meal.  i dont think unfinished steak is sad.  I see steak and eggs this morning.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

outrageous price of $8.50 a lb...you are kidding right? In these parts they get $9.99 for choice in the grocery stores and at the butcher shop they ask $14.99 for what they call premium choice!

That steak looks great! I haven't tried going caveman YET, it's definitely on the to-do list though. Is caveman suppose to be cooked thrown on the coals for the entire cook? I ask because it looks like they're grill marks in that steak.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

As to caveman, it's only a couple of minutes per side, then bring the temp back to 350 direct and finish on the grate until 120 internal....easy pesy

Blind 99 - 1 lb lump crab, two beated eggs, chopped celery, panko, and Old Bay to taste. I like to keep things simple and let the crab stand out.

RRP - I can't believe how lucky I was setting up such a sweet deal!  I have another source for Wagau, all natural no chemicals, 21 day dry aged for $18 a pound but this Prime Black Angus for 8.50 is an outright steal.

SGH - You refered to one of your last (great) cooks as"nothing special" so this was just my tongue in cheek reference to that cook.  You owe me nutten.

RRP - I forgot to tell , but this butcher is trying to put together a Berkshire Pork deal also.  He said it would cost just a little more than regular pork.  I may have to buy a second freezer if the deal comes together.  He and his family raised beef on their farm and he left that to run the family meat market so he has some great contacts.  This is looking like an egger's dream.
