CI pan with butter. Thin slice of lemon atop each filet and dusted with S&P or your favorite rub for fish. Blackened is good also. Or do them whole. Oil the skin, again rub of choice and then just score the flesh and place lemon wedges into the scores.

Its a nice white flaky fish so one of our favorites with similar fish like crappie is eggwash, then bread crumbs with salt and pepper. Then skillet fry until golden brown.
I have also cedar planked some with some Cajun seasoning.

Flour, egg, and then breadcrumbs. Don't forget to season the flour as Emeril would say.

Blasphemy!! Stone him!
My German grandparents fed us lots of perch, northern pike and walleye every Minnesota visit. NOTHING beats walleye!___________"When small men begin to cast big shadows, it means that the sun is about to set."

Lol, to be honest just like just like mainstream beers, blindfolded I probably couldn't tell the difference. Pike or snakes as we call them here I can pick out, but only certain sizes and at certain times of year. To me it seems the smaller the fish the better the texture even within the same species. -
beer batter deep fried. and to set this straight, pike are pike, walleye are walleye, and pickerel are pickerel, heres a pickerel

Well to start with we speak different languages in our own country. How could you not expect some confusion internationally?

I need a drink. Im in western Ontario and there is no grass pike or grass pickerel or chain pike or chain pickerel here, hence the confusion with me. We always just assumed that walleye is an American or southern (Toronto) term (sorry little steven I know its not right but most here generalize southern Ontario with Toronto), like northern is to what we call pike. Oh well it all tastes good -
