The Stoker wait begins

I called a couple days ago to ask another question and they looked up my order. He said it would get shipped Tuesday or Wednesday. Today is Wednesday so keeping my fingers crossed.

Mine showed up 2 days before the estimated time---Plug you sensors in first make sure it boots normal--The Fan Lead WIIL NOT LIGHT- that is normal the Pit and food probes will light, then go off before it goes to main menu---if that all happens, you are in good shape and ready to go--Good Luck

My one big problem I had setting up the WiFi was the SSID and Password are both case sensitive, after I figured that out it was smooth setup ( I am not a very computer literate person !)

Did you get it set up on your phone as well to monitor while away?

Yes I have set up on my Iphone 5S using the PitPal app

I know when I talked to Kenny earlier today they were packing items to mail because he kept dropping the phone ! I caught him just in time to add a 8ft pit probe to my order.

I downloaded that app on my IPad and phone--Question the WiFi IP you enter into PITPAL , ( I think it come up RO IP Address on the stoker)

Oy vey. I just paid for the Pit Pal App, it says it downloaded, but it is nowhere on my phone....Just like the one bad review.

Yeah I downloaded the free app first and then purchased upgrade direct from the app. Someone said they couldn't find their app before and it was on a second screen on the phone.

Ahhhhh, just figured it out.  If anyone else has this same problem, just download the free version and then go to information and upgrade by clicking on the link/button on that screen.

I guess I am not sure how I can verify that it upgraded other than now, when I go to information, the upgrade button is no longer there.

Biggest difference you will notice is it allows you to store more then 3 cook sessions, more photos can be stored and the temperature charts.

Okay I figured I would post here too since there are a couple of Stoker topics on the forum now. I have written a paper to set up your Stoker II using a Netgear router as the one on Naked Whiz is for a Linksys router. Also if you follow the youtube video that Rocks did, please note there are changes that @Ikapigian picked up on. This is the copy from his post:

The new ones will not say "connecting to wi fi" like the video says it will---I assumed something was wrong and there wasn't ....after you put the IP in and hit save--it will take you to the home screen, this is not reflected in the video...when you power off unplug the Ethernet before you turn back an to get the WiFi IP..just a few things I learned that are a bit different from the video.

Attached is the paper for the Netgear router and set up for using Stoker Status & PitPal app away from your Wifi network.

That video is for the older version of the Stoker. Took me a minute to catch that as well waiting for the wifi connect

Just got my Stoker!  Plugged in probes and blower - booted right up!  Got in and flipped on wi-fi, reboot, good to go!  Got PitPal app to see it and start a pretend cook, but the temps don't come in.  I must have missed something in the PitPal settings.  But the web interface works fine and blower kicks on.  Now, off to get some meat!
