Heavy duty table base
I'm considering building a BGE table starting with this heavy duty steel table base I found on the Grizzly Industrial website.
( http://www.grizzly.com/products/Super-Heavy-Duty-Workbench-Leg-System/D2910
)
The size without top is 32" high x 56" wide x 28" deep. They also offer some nice 6" casters.
The metal could be covered with wood for a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. I’d appreciate some feedback as far as size is concerned.

Nice looking sturdy base. I do believe the shelf that your egg will rest on needs to be able to hold the weight and the correct height. Looks like the bottom support shelf pictured is too low. So how to create a resting shelf would be the addition you would need, plus a table top? My 2¢

looks good. However if you add casters i think it would be too tallLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos

I'm sure it's a good product and well built but, then your sort of stuck with whatever size they have available. In the end I believe it would be better for you to get some SS stock and weld up what you need (or find a shop that will do this). Materials are not terribly unreasonably priced and you can design it exactly how you want it.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Leave the egg in the nest and get a ss table for along side... more mobile, especially if you are on a deck...

Agree that the lower shelf would be too low. Some more detailed information would let you know if a table nest would suffice for raising the egg. I did see somewhere where some took some square stock and had them attached (not sure how) to the table nest to raise their egg just a bit more. That might make it work!!

@fergi ...definitely wait. Another option down the road, which my next table will probably be is a model in which the egg can be rolled into the table.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

Wish I had waited to build my table. I had it ready to go when the egg came home.

Yeah I have the same setup as hapster and the table works great. I added 4 of these on one end for utensils.
