Starting, I know not before I have the degree and couple years experience, at low $40sK would be solid enough before OT and side work.
Meeting next week with local college to hopefully get more details.Boom -

My least favorite is climbing on a roof access ladder without a cage.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

It's funny, manlifts, roofs don't bother me but I hate ladders.Steve

Gary, Have to disagree emphatically. I saw my Dad sick in bed for days after a horrific fire or accident. Sure the money and hours sound good but part of the job is risking your life to save others without a thought for your own safety. My Dad died at a young age of several cancers which were not genetic nor self inflicted. Please remember that, although fire numbers are down because of new construction, electrical safety and more awareness, that the number of calls is not much lower than it ever was. When was the last time you saw an accident without fire rescue being there? You don't want to see what is inside of some of those wrecks they have to open, believe me here.

Steven, sorry to hear about how bad it was for your Dad, he was a hero and deserve our utmost thanks and respect. Thanks for sharing your experience and perspective, it's unfortunate that the common perception, economic reality and bad publicity give firefighters such a bad rap nowadays.canuckland
