I've lost control of these tomato plants. They're well over my head now.

Recovering from a family reunion. We cooked up a storm and the weather cooperated much better than expected.  Work today was a relief.
There's only so much family you can take in one dose...
It was good Michael but I'm spent.  Put out huge food and then all the boating with kids.  Did an SRF black, low country boil, Blackstone breakfasts, pulled pork and all the fixins, 15# of wings...  Everyone loved the food and we got lucky on the weather.  Recharging now.  Work was a relief.

Bought a Thermopop as backup to the Pen. Just did some tests. They are the same speed. Don't waste the extra $69 buying a thermo pen. It ain't worth it.

@DoubleEgger - thanks for that research.  I have gifted the pop for the past two years and the recipients have and truly enjoy them.  Upped their game as you would expect.  Had it been around when I was shopping I likely would not have gone down the 'pen road.  But that was then and this is now.

Agreed.  I ordered one for my dad and we did the same tests with the same result.

Three pops is better than a Pen for the same money

The only part I like about the Pen is the length.  Don't have to reach as far in the Egg to the protein.

Perhaps but it doesn't warrant that kind of premium price.

I like the folding aspect of the pen  but likewise it's not worth the extra money.

It's always bothered me a bit that the Pen is within $10 of the cost of the Smoke....
I still won't regret buying my Thermapen, however; it's nailed too many good cooks for me.  :triumph:

@Jeremiah -  Some solid baseball and a couple of shots of drama.  Do not put this into the text box filter.

Put an SRF Black 16# brisket in the KBQ @0200-ish.

Was enjoying sitting outside and feeding it splits and enjoying the beautiful 65° weather.

Ran into one serious problem tho - my Wii U wouldn't connect to the console  so I couldn't play Mario Kart 8 sitting out back.  :s

@HeavyG -  sounds like a true first-world issue ;)  That said, running a SRF Black is about as good as it can get with your dishwasher. Continue to enjoy the cook and the follow-on eats.

I agree. He looks terribly uncomfortable around a woman.

I finally finished up my snowmobile trailer enough to use it. New wiring, new LED lights, new wheels/tires, new bearings/races/seals, and took the disc grinder to some rusty parts and painted. I thought I was getting a deal when I first bought it for under $300. Not so much but should be good for awhile. I still need to buy a winch and some ramps to see if I can get the offset smoker up on the trailer. I also need to remove the rest of the decals and stickers from it. Trying to make it not too much of an eyesore for the neighbors. My mom was thrilled to see it roll away from sitting next to their garage for the last year.

I bought a garage door this morning. Everything seems good with the trailer. A little squirrelly but doesn't help that I'm pulling twice the length of my trailer and a little Sally truck. Who needs amusement park rides? Just take this thing 70mph down the highway with a garage door! =)

They get a little squirrelly without enough (or negative) tongue weight.

Looks like a solid little thing. Most of them handle better with 60% of the weight in front of the wheels. Also, a lot of mfr's don't want you going more than 45-55 with them. As if!

I'm looking for a good folding utility trailer. 99% of them seem to be sold by Harbor Freight or Northern Tools. I don't want to trust my Motorcycle to them.

I bought a used folding one on Craigslist that was either from Harbor Freight or Northern. I owned it for a day. Sold it for a profit. My plan was to haul my lawnmower around but it came up a 1/2" short on width between the wheel wells. I'm a little worried hauling around 1,200 pound smoker with this trailer. I can't really go much bigger for trailers as I'm already near maxed out on weight with my dinky Ranger.

You are now all set to get into the pallet business.  I wish i was back far enough to get the top of the stack in the photo.  This bottomed out rig merged onto express way.  The top of the stack was teetering +/-2 3 feet left to right.
