Just finished repairing the automatic standby generator so we didn't lose food in two full refrigerators, full upright freezer, and the commercial cooler. Three power poles down with blown out transformers in our area. Still assessing damages. There was a confirmed tornado a few miles away. And from what we heard last night I wouldn't be surprised if there was one down the road. There are two homes that were completely leveled about 5 miles away. The damages in our area and surrounding areas was much worse than what Hurricane Matthew brought. Lots of cleanup to do. Here's a pic of one of the power poles 3 doors down.Jeremiah said:

Current. Heads up for folks in St Johns county...it's heading toward you too. No bueno for all the hard working Lineman. And no bueno for folks waiting for power to be restored.
My Wife just sent me this. They're working hard to restore but, weather is making it unsafe for them. I want power but, never at the cost of somebody's life.

I can appreciate the loss of power and running a house on a 5.5KW generator. When we caught the back-side of Hurricane Ike in Sep 2008, those of us at the end of the grid for 200 hours-yep-8 days +.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Drinking a beer or 10 tonight. A family friend of mine since I was born was just taken to hospice. She fought like a girl and kicked cancers ass for the last year and a half. Alas, she's tired of fighting and ready to go home.
