Any Lundberg wild rice fans here?
a while back I started a thread seeking recommendations for brands of wild rice. I received several replies and have since purchased both Moosehead Wild rice and also Lundberg Wild. Any users here have a recommendation to jazz up the Lundberg, which looks delicious, but I'm just wondering. I used to cook some rice by substituting chicken broth for some of the water. Anybody try this with Lundberg? Or anything else? TIA

I go all broth or half/half at a minimum. Sometimes I'll use a little bit of rub as well depending on what I'm pairing the rice with. Did you get your Minnesota Lake Rice yet?

Thanks - yes like I said I bought one pound of the Moose Lake wild rice, but am planning to try the Lundberg wild tonight for the first time, and will try the Moose lake next time. Got recommendations for that one?

You can substitute some white wine for some of the water.
Adds:
sauteed mushrooms, celery, green/red peppers or onions
bacon
pecans
herbs like thyme, sage, chives, or marjoram. -

Big Lundberg fan here. I think I linked it to your original thread. I will sun chx broth for water, add butter and sautéed onion or shallots. That rice rocks. It's a 302 thing . . .

@RRP
Brother I love rice in general. I usually jazz my rice up a little and stuff chickens with it. Here is one of my favorite versions of rice.
1 cup of rice.
1/2 pound of shrimp.
1/2 pound of crab meat.
1/2 pound of bacon.
1/4 cup of mushrooms.
1/4 cup of diced jalapenos.
4 tablespoons bacon grease.
1 heaping tablespoon of real butter.
1 table spoon of real lard.
1 handful of shredded bacon.
1/2 teaspoon of ginger.
3 teaspoons of soy sauce.
1 teaspoon of cayenne.
4 teaspoons of salt.
1/2 a onion diced as fine as you can get it.
Trust me when I say that this takes rice to a whole new level. It is par excellent to stuff chickens with or to just eat as is.
Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.
Status- Standing by.
