Sad Day At The Chicken Ranch

Lily Large is showing her age. She's worked here since 1999.

I cleaned her up good for a real salty customer two days ago and noticed that she had a cracked firebox, fire ring and base.

The base crack was barely noticeable on the inside but Judy, with her good eye for detail, spotted a substantial crack on the lower outside of the base. Poor Lily... No doubt that we'll ever be able to use her again to entertain the customers.

So off to Ace Hardware in The Woodlands to file a warranty claim. The store wasn't even there when I brought Lily home from BBQ's Galore. They closed all stores in Houston and moved to Dallas.

Just a simple form and emailed them some digital photos of the cracks was all it took. New parts should be arriving on the next truck. Really great customer service. Thanks Alex.

We also got to see the Mini-Max for the first time. Nice... I'm going to try really hard to win the drawing in Salado.

I also sent him some links to videos I've posted on YouTube and to the forums. One of the people from the store will be attending Salado, Athens and Austin.

I think he said they sold over 400 eggs last year and look to sell even more this year.

They are well set up to sell BGE's and EGGcessories. Nice display.

Judy put the sales pitch on a nice lady and she's probably going to buy one. We gave her a card.

It's a sad day when you lose one of your 'Girls' but she the longest living 'Girl' in the Feather Fleet. Maybe I can make a planter out of her.
