Got off at a decent time today and I hadn't been able to egg in a coupe of days. Decided to cook the family some vittles.
Went with a Chuck Roast. Kosher Salt & cracked pepper both sides pressing it into the roast. Then a blend of rosemary, thyme and sage with my herb scissors. RW w/ a few oak chunks at 250 ℉

Then low and behold I get a ER service call at a location that's 140 mi round trip. With that I figured 3-4 hrs before I would be back home best case scenario.

So, with my wife still at work and our Son the same I had to ask my Mother to egg sit. Then I coached my wife as she got home to just check dome temp and had her adjust airflow. Then our Son got home and I had him adjust to bump up temp and put it in foil wrap with a little Cabernet Sauvignon poured in and some more herbs.

Dont give up the Egging secrets. Because of how good the food tastes on the Egg, my wifes thinks I'm killing myself outside cooking. Little does she know I'm just doing my elbow bends with drinks.

    Looks good!

Do you really store your charcoal under your egg on a wooden deck?

Watch out Blake, they may start elbowing you out of the way so they can cook.

@paqman‌ I have bags there and in a breezeway. I egg on the deck but, I'm always safety conscious and do have a extinguishers in several places by egging area. If I had the Benjamin's I'd build a detached OD Kitchen with built in refrigeration etc. This is my Zen area so, I love it. Once the MM is completely cool it goes into the lanai area. The SS one stays outside with a cover.

@theyolksonyou‌ Our Son didn't mind it but, my Wife prefers the eggs be mystical delivery devices of awesomeness. ;)

Great looking meal dude, great that the family all came together to make it happen as a team, that teamwork is the cornerstone of a great family unit. Damn those ice machines.

@pagman ... psss ... just keep watching the two bags of Rockwood as time goes by.  I think he pulled two empty bags out of someone's trash, filled them with rocks, and placed them carefully on the cart so it wouldn't move.  They never change!  They're always in the same position ... just posed for the photograph.  I think he really cooks with RO, but is ashamed to say so.

@anton‌ Ya the family totally gets me. My wife was laughing saying "are you serious you want me to do what???" She was prepared to take sliced and plated pics in the event of my absence. =))
And yes... Ice Machine with dual heads capable of 1,800# in 24 hrs with a dead empty bin. Gee I wonder if it could've been called in sooner? $-) I'll take the OT hrs no problem. :D
