I have 42 4 foot 32watt tubes in my manbearcave. The payback on going to LED would be some time long after I'm dead, at least at current prices. Plus, they help heat the shop during the winter.______________________________________________I love lamp..

My father has solar, I'll be getting them in my next home, but eventually planning on leaving here.
For now I'll deal with the employee discount from utility company. -
Govt overreach. What's next? Love Last Man Standing. Funny stuff and applicable to this crazy incandescent vs CFL vs LED mumbo jumbo. Personally I like a soft white light. CFLs sucked from day one

I have some dimmable LEDs in ceiling fans, but they don't really dim much. It's like the dimmable range is 70% to 100% of light output instead of say 30% to 100% with regular bulbs. I forgot which brand they are, maybe others are better.CFL longevity has been all over the place for me.Cooking on an XL and Medium in Bethesda, MD.

I came across your post and got curious about how your system's been doing over the years. Those early savings sound awesome.

We switched to a system with solar panels and battery storage, and it's been great for cutting our electricity bills. We even make a bit of money by selling extra power back to the grid. The savings have been big, and it's nice to help the environment too.
For anyone thinking about going solar, it's definitely worth it. Here in Dublin, Ireland, we've seen the same good results with our solar panels, especially with the new tech and better installation methods in the last few years. If you're curious, check out the solar panels Dublin Ireland.
