Reminds me of akutaq (fat content). My Alaskan friends made a shortening version of it, they said it was actually good.

While living in the dorm in the late 60's as a starving student I was too poor to buy presliced Bologna as it cost more than uncut ...I was surprised to see this boloney log was $6.58 a pound when we purchased it today. It actually tasted better to me when it was cold later on. Travis has fed me for the last week on his wonderful egg cooking including a real prime rib that we ate on for three days. I am proud to say my son teaches me many things these days, not the least - grilling skills.

@buddyclaude - Your son Travis is a very fine person. He and I have become (I hope he agrees) friends. I even talk to him on the phone sometimes. But mostly we text with a group of other forum people. Some of those people are bad. Don't ask.
I admire his spiritualism and how much he likes Texas football (UT - even though they're getting an ass-whipping by Arkansas right now). Also, his hobbies of origami and scrap-booking are very endearing. You should be very proud of him.
