My source is an hour drive. We were halfway there today and I mentioned going by. Seem she thinks 1.5 bags is plenty. :-@ guess I'll go by myself next week. More room for lump without her anyway.

I don't see any problems, being prepared is important! I always keep 4-6 bags on hand.

@henapple - I hear the advantage to Royal Choke is that a lot of people will heat up all the rocks that they find in their lump and use them as feet warmers on really cold nights. Kinda like the O'l days when people would heat up stones and place at the foot of the bed for warmth. Not only does it RC save you money on lump but it warms your feet as well.

I could have about 50 pounds of RO for that same price. I can't believe that it's that much better. Walk away and don't get caught up in the propaganda.

On my way out to pick up 10 bags of the new WG lump the day after Christmas. Add that to the 30 or so bags of WG Competition Blend I'm hoarding.

Anybody that has more lump than I do is a hoarder.

Don't mean to hijack this thread. I pay $30 CDN now for a 20lb bag of BGE.  Have tried to get RW here, but no dealers and Firecraft won't deliver to Canada.  I would be willing to split a pallet of RW and have it shipped to the border at Sweetgrass, MT and make the 2 hr round trip to get it to the Lethbridge area if anyone around me is interested.  I know there are eggers around here, but they are pretty quiet.  Any takers??  tog

I service the Mt Vernon area as well. Is your dealer the Ace right as you are coming into Mt Vernon or do you use Bassemeirs?

That is where my large came from. The small came from an Ace in eddyville ky. Dealing with Bassemeirs is really convenient since they are a distributor too. My large cracked and after showing them pics I walked out with a new base. Very simple and painless.
