Elise had her first orchestra concert tonight... We couldn't have been more proud or smiling wider She has been playing and taking lessons since she started asking for a violin at 3... Started tearing up when I remembered that when Elise was born; she was smaller than the 1/16th scale violin she started her lessons on...

Unfortunately, Elise misinformed me that I couldn't bring my camera gear and that no video or pics would be allowed... Of course we get there and every **** and his brother is holding a camera bag. To add some irony; we couldn't have gotten better seats to actually see her play, which would have been perfect if I had my A77II & zoom with me... Had to make do with the work phone, lucky they just upgraded me to the iPhone 6.

Very nice. We had Emily's (12 yrs old) choral concert tonight. We have 3 concerts this week, one last week, and another next week. I still enjoy going to each one.

I know the feeling. My three daughters sang with the N.O. Children's Chorus from the ages of 8 until they were 18. I choked up at every concert.

Thank you everyone... It was really cool seeing the smile on her face when she spotted us in the crowd.

Elise did promise me a photo shoot soon since I didn't get any really good shots of her tonight. Just thankful and blessed that I was able to be there to see it

Wonderful!   Two of my boys played violin and the third the cello. Playing in an orchestra builds concentration and discipline.

Great moments Hap!

We were at my daughters (13yo) orchestra concert last Thursday.  Great way to get the holiday's rolling.  She plays the violin as well.

Hap - here's a thought.

Could it be, that should hetold you that cameras were not allowed because she figured that you might go nuts with the photography and filming?could it be that she just wanted you to be there, in the moment, and soak it all in?

could it be, that she is way smarter than all of us? Very possible!

@hapster, now that I am a father, I understand the emotion and joy.  I don't think these moments can be soaked in any more, yet you want more.  

Congrats to her and her art!  

The good thing about not having the camera is that you were able to give your undivided attention to her concert.

Not sure Elise was ever called a micro... She was 1-1/2lbs and 12" long, does that qualify?

@hapster‌ I forget the definition of micro premie. But our daughter was exactly the same size as yours. She came 13 weeks early. Just couldn't wait to see us I guess. So yes, your daughter qualifies. Glad she is doing so well.
