Sorry to hear of your friend's passing. My best friend died of a heart attack at age 38 in 2000 so I understand your loss, pain and sorrow. Your friend's spirit and light will shine on through you, his friends and family. You'll think of home every time you fire up your egg and it will help you stay connected to him.

So sorry to read of your friend's death at a far too young age... Was he aware of a heart condition? May God bless his family and friends as they try to deal with this loss... And the lesson to be learned here is to get checked out by your doctor at least once a year, esp blood work to see if there are any problems you aren't aware of...

That's so crazy and sad, my boss was telling us about a friend of his who passed suddenly at 39, and it got home because he was so cost to my age. This REALLY hits close to gone because he was my age. My thoughts and prayers to his family during this devastating time.

I lost a good friend several years ago with whom I had shared many hours of grilling and eating with our families.  To this day, there are things that I cook that I either learned from him or we cooked together often that I cannot make without a smile pushing its way to the surface at some point during the cook.  It's always out of the blue and it's those images and memories of good times past with him that flood my consciousness.  I will always enjoy that, it's a nice surprise like an old friend dropping by unannounced just to say hello and check in.  He's forever linked to those recipes for me and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am from the same town as Madhu (Fort Worth) and we were close in age. He went to a different high school than me but I ran into him a few times and knew of him. I can tell you that he was very well known and well liked here. It's a shame he left so soon. Prayers for his family, friends, and loved ones.
