Neighborhood party. 300# pig. The BBQ caterer told me it took 14 hours to cook. I didn't taste any smoke on it and I don't think he seasoned it either. Was tender and juicy though. Had to take a Pig Selfie just before we enjoyed his cheeks.

Those are fun.  There's a joint in west SLC that "cues a whole hog every Friday, it doesn't last long!

  • Looking at it I'm betting it was wrapped in foil from the start. Love doing whole hogs.

Pig pickins are a blast. I really need to get back to cooking them more regular myself. Glad that Yall had a good time my friend.

Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

    Status- Standing by.

If the Social Chairman for the party hadn't hired this caterer, I was going to volunteer to Egg a bunch of Butts for it.  I would have enjoyed the challenge, but glad she just paid the $500 for it it was done.  Eating some of the leftovers for lunch today.

  • 500.00 would not even pay for the hog here. It's 2.39lbs here for a whole hog.

he told me it was 300# uncooked and 260# finished.  I can't verify that he told me the truth, but yes that was a deal.  He dropped it off and picked up the carcass afterward for that price.
