Thanksgiving Idea

I love deboning poultry as it makes serving pretty and easy, so I am thinking about trying a stuffed, deboned turkey for Thanksgiving. Not wanting to do a turducken, my idea is stuffing with prosciutto, pulled pork and a vinegar slaw in layers. Make it like a bbq egg roll but using turkey in place of a dough. Wondering what reactions people may have...

I am betting they will either love it or hate it. I am sure it will be different than anything they have ever had before. Vinegar slow stuffed inside a turkey! You are a mad man!!Try it.Louisville, GA - 2 Large BGE's

That sounds ridiculously awesome!!!"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Sometimes a mad scientist dreams up something crazy good. Sometimes he's just crazy. The only way to know for sure is to try it. If you're cooking for guests, perhaps a dry run might be a good idea.Flint, Michigan

Not sure I'd pair prosciutto with pulled pork but you clearly have a vision - I bet it'll be awesome. If you want to hedge, practice with a chicken.Chicago, IL - Large and Small BGE - Weber Gasser and Kettle

Yeah, I'll probably do a test with a chicken. Good idea

Stuff it brother. I love to stuff pork shoulder, pork loins and tender loins as well as poultry. It adds that something extra to the same ole same ole. Breaks the monotony if you will.
