"Cracked Egg"

Could someone tell me why my extra large big green egg leaks excessively on the left side of the unit when smoking? It was built by Ace Hardware, and obviously is not sealed in that area. Any guidance on how to fix the problem would be appreciated.

You'll have to loosen the bands (when it is not hot) and readjust. If it was built built by ACE I would have them fix it.

If you choose to do it yourself, search  the forum for the dollar bill test.

The good news is that it does not looked cracked, just needs to have the bands adjusted. There are some good posts on tis topic.

Thanks all! It's not cracked, I just thought that would be a clever "topic". Upon close investigation, it appears to be "off center" based on wear showing in the seal. I'm new to this BGE deal, I've used it about 20 times

That video is garbage. The front to back adjustment was loosening the bolts and then retightening; that does nothing. At the end of the video he is adjusting for the gap. It still had an air gap at the front.
