Not a good ending for one egg after an otherwise great eggfest:

They had a bunch of volunteers moving eggs from our cooking spots over to the pickup spot for the demo eggs--one tipped over while being moved

Looks like they ran it through the cracked paving.
I will be picking up my first egg tomorrow, so glad i noticed how bad the wheels on a nest are for moving them and built a table instead. -
What a tragedy, poor egg! Somebody got some 'splainin to do!

Well, the bright side is someone might need a slightly used large dome--looked like landing on hinge saved the dome.

I guess it was the cracked pavement or that drain. Pull your egg, don't push, homies.

I wonder if a nest handler would of prevented it from falling.Steven

I preach that "pull not push" all the time, but with that picture where is the nest? OTOH it definitely appears to have gone over backwards implying a push over accident! -
It would unless the force is enough to make the whole thing go. It has a built-in handle for movement.stemc33 said:I wonder if a nest handler would of prevented it from falling.

That's just so sad! I winced when I saw the pic.

unless the rightful owner had taken possession then I assume that was a company loss and there were plenty of people who had no intention of leaving today with their new egg, but would pick theirs up later. -

@RRP, my dealer told me the same thing, pull by the hinge and not pull or push at the handle. It makes me want to cry too, what a waste. My 5 year old threatens to push mine over when he is mad at me.

Pulling is the key, whether it be while holding the back hinge or the front handle. When the egg is in a nest the center of gravity is high and when the wheels meet an obstruction it will tip over! If it falls backwards there is little chance to catch it AT ALL, but if it falls toward you, you have a good chance to catch it! Once you have taken possession then those accidents are on your dime, and are not warranty issues. -
Very sad.

If my kid threatened to break my egg or a person or anything for that matter as a solution for being mad, grief would rain down hard and long.

I would never suggest pulling by the handle, a bad scene can happen easily as the lid will simply open up once the wheels have snagged. Always pull by the hinge....sound advice from your dealer.

It never dawned on me to pull by the hinge. 99% of the time I pull by the handle, and RARELY I push. 1) I don't move either one more than 15 feet. 2) I'm not a complete idiot, I'm not going 100 mph.
