Heading to San Francisco looking for restaurant recommendations (BBQ or other)
My wife and I are heading to San Francisco, the idea is to explore different restaurants around town.
We have been to a few of the well know places (Tadich Grill) and a few others.
We already have a reservation at Coqueta (tapas). Looking for some other ideas.
Any recommendations, and if you could include what you liked about the establishment that would be great.
We are pretty adventurous as far as style and type of food.
TIA

I have been to the Tadich Grill but that is about it since I am from the east coast. Sorry._________________________________________________Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!Large BGE 2006, Mini Max 2014, 36" Blackstone, Anova Sous Vide

I have never eaten there, but by now I would have... if he was still in NYC. Anthony Mangieri's Una Pizza Napoletana. Left New York for SF a few years ago - before I had heard of him. If I'm ever out there, I'll definitely give it a try. http://www.unapizza.com/

Make sure you have reservations. Definitely a plus to go in the evening so you can catch the view of that crazy-expensive light show the city installed on the Bay Bridge. The seafood is orgasmic. Also, the "ice cream sandwich" was one of my wife's all-time favorite desserts of her entire life. Looks like it is still on the menu, but they've changed it from chocolate/vanilla to pumpkin/ginger spice for autumn.Large BGE | Blackstone | Custom Dísco | PolyScience Discovery

I have only been once for work near SF and I flew in on a Sunday and stopped off in the city for a meal. Some locals recommended Scoma's. It must be good, because at 2:30 or so on a Sunday and it was packed with an hour wait. I believe we ended up going to Cioppino's which was right around the corner. I recall the food was excellent. It didn't have a view of the water but we sat outside and it was a cool atmosphere (check it out!).Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

2 places:
1. Sens Restaurant - great views of the Bay Bridge, great seafood, amazing outdoor patio
2. Tomasso's Pizza - some the best I have had anywhere. Not the best neighborhood since Hustler Club is across the street but it is awesome. Supposedly Francis Ford Coppola used to go there...
Sens needs a reservation, Tomasso's is walk up so go early.
Have fun!

Following on what SmokyPitt said: Scoma's is good for seafood (despite being touristy and busy). Indeed, Fisherman's Wharf as a whole is fun even if it is very touristy.

Eastern Bakery on Grant in Chinatown has always been one of my favorites for pork buns and other treats like that. Like most places in Chinatown, don't equate the cleanliness of the floor or walls with the quality of the food. Good stuff, part of the experience.
Love you bro!
