Had a craving for some steak. Had 2 1.5" filets.
Fired up my small, roasted at 275 with one chunk of cherry for 20 minutes with a flip at the half.
Let the small rip and got her to 600 ish for the sear. Seared for 1 minute a side.
Turned out great! Fat tire for beer of choice.

Looks good... How does the cherry influence the taste? That's the one thing I haven't tried, I like to just use the lunp and let the beef flavor stand on it's own. I wonder what a chuck of oak would do, since that's what I use for beef ribs and brisket... Of course; doing all my steaks caveman doesn't lend itaf to using smoke wood LOLMSV Chill Spot

@hapster , I really like the subtle taste of cherry. Use it for almost everything I "smoke". Very subtle, but enough to know it was there with a little sweetness. And I keep meaning to try caveman, but beer gets in the way and I forget every time.... Next time....Fighting Sioux Hockey

Slow smoke with a little cherry and then hit them caveman. Cherry wood is my all time favorite. Even great on tuna steaks.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
