I've been having a hankering for pheasant. And being a Nebraskan living in FL for over 20 some odd years I haven't hunted them in a very long time. I resorted to buying them from a local butcher. My birds came in today that I ordered about 2 wks ago. 2 whole birds each at about 3# each (when I saw them I said seriously?). They looked much smaller than the ones I would bring home back in the day. Obviously these are farm raised. They ran $8.16 a # and it hurt me to have to buy them VS hunt them. But, since I'm no longer in pheasant country I'll take what I can get. I'm researching some very old family recipes and plan on incorporating them for the egg. This will most definitely be a Husker Game Day cook when I do it.

@Texansurf believe it or not (I sure as hell didn't!) But, FL produces more corn than NE. Crazy! I spect because we have a much longer growing season.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

@NPHuskerFL, so how much do you think they'll weigh when you debone them? :-w I vote you stuff them with gator meat to show off your a Gator Pride. Don't forget to pull out your old Tebow jersey before you eat.
