You will be more than pleased with the Rutland. After I installed mine just for kicks I stuck my weed burner in the bottom vent and ran the egg up to 1,500 degrees for 3 minutes then dropped to 1,200 degrees and held it there for 30+ minutes. The Rutland didn't even blink. Wish I would have installed it the day I bought my egg. Excellent product.

Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

    Status- Standing by.

Has it always been that out of whack? This is the front underbite - right? so how's the two sides? Have they shifted as well?

My front has a little under it like yours. No smoke comes out of back or front. I'm guessing yours is fine but I'm sure folks on here will let you know better.

@RRP‌ the pic shows the front. The back is same(opposite) the sides are pretty close though.

Good! then it sounds like your dome and base are not out-of-round and should be adjustable to correct that front underbite and the back overbite. The backward shift is probably just a band shift issue, but may I suggest you not fret with that condition just now? After you install your new Rutland gasket you MAY want to adjust your bands anyway so the planes of the dome and base meet up properly when closed.

@fusionhq‌, if you figure out how to get the dome and base aligned correctly will you please share. I have same problem on my XL and have adjusted several times. I get it aligned and then when I tighten the bands, back to the same problem.
