  • Cleaning my egg, I did notice I have a crack in my firering. But no problem. Im just gonna keep eye on it and cook on it.

    How "little" is that CI Weber grate? The smallest I know of is 18.5".

    That's the Weber Sear Grate. It measures 11 inches in diameter.

    Yeah, and my little weber cast iron sear grate sits perfectly on the spider. Gonna have some cool reverse sears. Probably gonna do one tomorrow with some thick cut pork loin chops. image

    I purchased the spider and a CI grate to be able to have better sear and then I tried caveman style directly on the coals... I ended up using the spider just a few times for that purpose because caveman is better and less trouble. I still use the spider with my wok.

  • I still haven't tried caveman, but I'll get to it. I already had that cast iron grid (its the one I use for my small egg) so I wasnt out anything extra. And the babybacks werent my best effort, but the spares were awesome. I made a glaze from some of my jalapeno jelly and some cherry bbq sauce I picked up in florida. Turned out great.
