How you spend your money is your own business. Hope you enjoy having it though.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

Not to rain on the Thermapen party, but I do just fine without one. Ill parlay the cost of that into meat/lump. Am I missing something? When I'm not Eggin', I'm scootin' Eggin' and 'cueing from Temecula Ca; an hour from San Diego, an hour and five minutes from Palm Springs, and an hour and a half from Los Angeles (yeah, right. With THAT traffic?)

Yes. It cost me $3.98. It's "analog", like me.When I'm not Eggin', I'm scootin' Eggin' and 'cueing from Temecula Ca; an hour from San Diego, an hour and five minutes from Palm Springs, and an hour and a half from Los Angeles (yeah, right. With THAT traffic?) -

What's the "right" temp? This is cooking, not science. Like the Egg itself, wish I'd spent the money 20 years ago. What makes thermapen so much better than other digital thermometer probes? What do y'all use this for mostly? For long cooks, I always use a maverick

Its lab calibrated accurate and you have your temp in 2-3 seconds. Completely different use case than Mav. Both have their place in your tool bag.Gravytrain84 said:What makes thermapen so much better than other digital thermometer probes?
