I haven't got around to messing with it yet... between work and being sick, just haven't gotten to it. Seriously thinking about taking to a local service center and having them break it down and clean it up, depending on the price, based on what they are going for used, I'd still come out way ahead.

I have not as of yet... on my list of things to do. Found a service center near here that will will take it apart, clean it, and check it out for $75/hr. Guy told me it should be about 2-3 hours... Even at that, based on what these things are going for used, $150-225 to have it reconditioned still leaves me way ahead since it didn't cost me anything to get itCanugghead said:Hey @hapster a slicer thread today reminded me of your slicer, care to share if you rejuvenated it?

Something similar happened with me a few years back. A friend of my BIL out of the blue gave me a Hobart commercial slicer. Thing weighs a ton and half. Was pretty dirty when I got it, but after cleaning it really good it works great. @hapster you asked earlier how often it gets used. I will say this, it's so big I mounted it to a rolling island thingy I got off Craigslist and then keep in my garage (no basements down here in New Orleans) and keep it covered. It's a little bit of work to clean after use but not too bad. And,,,every time I use it, I cut myself, nothing major but nick one of my fingers. It has a built in sharpener that really really works!!
