I'll be in Austin in a couple weeks and wanted to have some Que. I know Franklin's and probably a few others are only open for lunch. Need a place that will be open for supper. Wife like Pulled Pork and I like Brisket.

This place looks promising. Anyone been? What is the wait time. I'm not waiting in line for hours.

I recently had some outstanding brisket at Stubbs in Austin. In fact, it may have been the best brisket I have ever had. I was somewhat surprised that Stubbs had pulled pork as well. The sides there are very good as well. So I'd recommend Stubbs to you.Watkinsville, Ga XL, Medium

I loved iron works while I was thereXL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum

Freedmens looks new and more than slightly hipsterish, so it depends on what you're looking for and if you own skinny jeans. I'd bet the food is good, but probably different than what you would get at the more traditional places.
Love you bro! -
If you want to know where the locals would suggest for dinner- I would say Styles Switch or Salt Lick in Driftwood. Styles is in Austin proper and i think it's one of Franklin's old guys. Supposed to be very good but I haven't been yet. Rave reviews on line so might be worth a shot.Salt lick (in Driftwood, not Round Rock) is far from the best BBQ but it's definitely the best Texas BBQ experience of them all. I've had terrible brisket there, I've had awesome brisket there (last time I was there) but I've never had a bad time there. it's 20 minutes out of town but it is the quintessential TX Hill Country Experience. We don't do much pulled pork here so you are on your own there. We do Brisket, Ribs, Sausage (beef sausage). Period. It's BYOB and I think cash only.Stubbs is not known for good Q but sounds like Tim had a good night there. Maybe they are coming around.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX
