I'd say 9/10 use a Thermapen around these parts.

i have two thermapens and rate them as the #1 cooking accy i have. The Egg's are a close second.We use the thermapens in the kitchen as much as with the Eggs. Just behind the Egg's is the adj rigSalado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now).

This one has a heat sensor too. The one I bought a month ago stopped working.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

I wouldn't waste your money on a Taylor product. Thermoworks makes great (and accurate) thermos, even if you don't get the Thermapen specifically. You can buy an IR thermo for pizza, baking etc for pretty cheap from HF or on Amazon.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Thermoworks also has combo IR gun/thermocouple combos. I would go Thermoworks over Talor. www.Thermoworks.comThey/Them

So you say worth it? What about the Maverick PT100? I don't want to spend a $100 if I don't have to.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo. -
I'm thinking of getting this one. Gives a reading in 5-6 seconds. http://www.thermoworks.com/products/low_cost/thermopop.html#SpecificationsXL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

@Ladeback69 - I don't know if it's worth it, I'm sure it's fine. I just read the specs, don't have one.

I bought the Thermopop for $24.00 and and $4 in shipping on Amazon. I will let you know how it works. I need a new raised grid if i can't get mine replaced or fixed. Its only lasted a few months. I may just buy some bricks to support it.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo. -
