I'm new to the forum and a new large BGE owner. Been gassing a long time but I think the Weber Genesis is about to semi-retire. Getting used to the vent controls and such right now with some easy cooks. First cook was spatchcock chicken. Half seasoned with some garlic salt and the other with some creole seasoning. Mrs doesn't care for the heat. Added some apple wood chunks and cooked indirect with the plate setter at 350. Added some Stubbs original near the end and plated at 160 and it rested perfectly at 165.
Wow I'm hooked. Thought I would mostly use the BGE for slow smoke I haven't done in the past but the flavor is awesome on most everything. Burgers last night and wings tonight, all great. Going to do my first pork butt on the 4th. I'm a bit nervous about that.
I've been lurking a while and soaking up he knowledge shared here, the forum is awesome.
Anyway just wanted to check in and let everyone know I'm glad to be here and learn what I've been missing all these years.

Welcome to our little part of the world. My advice is to run now before you get hooked. If to late for that, you are in for a wild ride. What do you drive in the air?Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

No air driving for me! I just likely didn't reply to member Aviators post earlier correctly, sorry for the confusion. I'm afraid your stuck with me now, already addicted. I spend my time in the spice aisle now trying to duplicate your rub....
