I love not having to readjust the daisy wheel every time I open the dome.

You'll love it like I do! BTW I see you probably are right handed...right? I could tell by where the tab is in the right side. Here's a hint after a year's worth of eggperience with a SmokeWare cap...if you are right handed then re-position your cap so the tab is on the left side looking at your dome thermometer - yet keeping the opening on the neck part at the front. Reason? - if you adjust the temperature of the cap from right to left then the tab will be in direct outflow of the heat, but if you adjust from left to right then until it is wide open then the tab will remain cooler since it isn't in the path of the escaping heat from the SmokeWare. That make sense? Even if it doesn't then trust me anyway! LOL

+1 what @RRP‌ said. It also helps to prevent the rubber tab protector from melting. FWIW

LOL - THAT melting the tab warning was all I was trying to explain, but I forgot to add that at the beginning of my long explanation! BTW as the old saying goes...don't ask me the time as I will probably tell you how to build a watch instead!

Just a quick question, did you stick the gasket on the egg or the stainless sleeve? The latter was my choice. Just wondering if anyone else tried this.

Product looks great..I know this is useless information now but if you take the daisy wheel and reverese the orientation on top to where the BGE letters are upside down when facing the grill you will not have the issue of re-adjusting the dasiy wheel each time you open the dome. One set at your desired position, the reverse orientation of the wheel does a good job of staying in that position when you open and close the dome

Unless you need a little more heat and need to slide your top daisy open. Throws even more into the balance. The only real easy fix is to add a split washer or spring washer but I use the SmokeWare Cap now as well.
No sharp edges to wear on the grill cover with the SmokeWare Cap is another advantage.
    Thank you,

If you'll twist the daisy wheel you won't have that problem. Twist it so that the screw that holds the daisy is closest to you. When you open the dome, the daisy will hang instead of fall open.
