Keep the internet free and a level playing field.  Understand the threat to the interwebs in this fun bit by John Oliver.

Thanks for the post. I saw that just after I finished a WaPo article about the Secret Service is spending $$ on software the will be able to detect if a person's post is sarcastic or not.

Yeah, that sounds like something they ought to be able to do!  8-|

There, I even added the rolling eyes emoticon to help them find this one.

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

I started watching this show this week.  He is doing a great job and this show will definitely continue on.  If any one likes The Daily Show with John Stewart, then you will love this show.

HBO has been very smart to offer his early shows and clips on Youtube. Gizmodo has done some good articles on this issue too.

    Great bit, like Mr. Oliver.
Same song, different band. For those old enough to remember, landline telephones in the '60's were pretty much all electro-mechanical, you paid a flat rate and could use your phone 7X24 if you wanted to. The network was designed to assume no more than 20% of all customers would want service at any one time. Only long distance calls were recorded (calling number/called number/start time/stop time)
With computer controlled switches, early '70's, it was possible to record all calls, phone companies offered usage based pricing, similar to some cell plans today. Instead of a flat rate with unlimited usage, you could pay as little as 10% and basically have a coin phone without a slot in your living room.
It was also possibly to have different classes of customers, those that always would get dial tone, those that usually could get dial tone and those that might only get dial tone if the network was basically idle. Pricing would reflect your "level" of service and usage.
Hope we all don't go down that rat hole again.

EDIT - as a Canadian, I would like to apologize to the world for Cahyoo
Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
