Cookies for my Daughter (pic heavy)

Leaving tomorrow for the Alaskan Bush. I'll be going through egg withdrawals while I'm gone. I didn't plan on egging today due to pre-trip errands, but glanced up at the cookies when I was in the refrigerator isle at the store. Instantly I thought I had plenty of time to egg some cookies for my daughter and grandson. Unfortunately I bought cookies with nuts, so no cookies for my grandson.
The cookies...I got the egg up to 400 degrees with RO and let it burn until II couldn't see smoke. I used the bottom vent to control temp and left the DFMT off to eliminate smoke by letting out more exhaust. Worked well. See vent settings below.

Cookies actually on at 400 degrees. Temp dropped to 330 after putting on the cookies and slowly creeped back up to about 375 during the 15 minute cook. All four batches had similar drops and rebounds. Cookies were cooked on a pampered chef stone.

Top and bottom of finished cookie.

WOW!! I love cookies my friend and those look great. I haven't made them on the egg but your post has me contemplating it now. Fantastic looking! =D>Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

The greatest barrier against all wisdom, the stronghold against knowledge itself, is the single thought, in ones mind, that they already have it all figured out. -
They look delicious. I've done cookies before but, never directly on the baking stone. I've put them on parchment paper. Looks like you did not have any trouble getting lifted off of the stone.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

What a great idea cookies right on the pizza stone! How was the Egg set up under the stone?
-
Plate setter with legs up. Stone on top of grate. I started out using two stones so I could rotate batches. The cheap $13.00 dollar Brinkman stone wasn't working out so I just finished cooking with the pampered chef stone. I let the cookies rest about 4 minutes and they came right off.Ktim said:What a great idea cookies right on the pizza stone! How was the Egg set up under the stone?

@stemc33 not trying to be a Debbie Downer but, using Pampered Chef stone is likely ok at the temps you described. However I wouldn't do anything much above 500℉-550℉ ish as they are well know to shatter on the egg. Go w/ a thicker quality stone. I started with a PC because that's what I already had. Fortunately it survived but, it did turn it completely black and it's extremely seasoned now :-D. Yeah, I seen/heard the stories on the forum. Won't be doing high temp cooks with it. We've had that pampered chef stone for years and hardly used it. I was talking with some people at work and they told me it's great for cookies. And indeed it is.Steven
