AR Oval or Round

Do you see more people getting the round or oval AR system?  I could use my original grid with the round, but with ribs, brisket, etc. it seems to make more sense to get the oval.  Any thoughts?

    Love my oval r&b combo. Takes away the hot spots.

    So would I just need to buy an extra oval grid?

    The AR will take both oval and round grates. I have both and use both.

    Mickey, so if i bought the oval I could use it for the bottom or top and use my original stainless round on the other level?

    @nealcr1‌
    You can interchange all the stones and grids any way that you want. The pics show the round grid on top the oval grid on the next level the round stone on the next level and the oval stone on the next. These can be arranged any way that you want. Mix and match any how you like.imageimageimage

    Yours sold with your Egg will only fit the top of the AR.

    Yes, I do it all the time. I run the 13 x 17" brisket rack in the main grate position and either the 16" grate or the Sliding D ring grate. I can run all three, and have, but there is not a lot of space between the racks. Got to be something thin, like ribs, chicken wings, drummies, or thighs, stuff like that. If you do ribs or brisket at all, you will not regret the purchase of the oval. Have fun CGS shopping.

    Be sure and buy the oval stone with the oval rack ( always handy).

  • Sgh, is that an AR R&B combo or do you have additional pieces in your photos?

    It started out as the R&B but I have added the round stone and grid as well.

  • So if I get R &B combo just throw in a round stone and grid and I'll have everything in your pics?

    I like my r&b combo. Oval grid and stone. I really want the extender for more height and another sliding d and a second 13x17. Call and chat with Tom, give him an idea of what you wanna cook and qtys and he'll make great suggestions (pleasantly minimizing costa when possible!)

    Yes sir you will. The top grid that you see is the grid that came with your egg. I added a 13 inch stone and that's what you see in the pic my friend.

  • Thanks so much. Your pics make more sense to me than the CGS website. Not a knock on them.
