OT - Southern Fried Chicken - cooked near, not on the Egg

TjcoleyTjcoley Posts: 3,528
Making some Southern Fried Chicken, and Mrs. TJ didn't want me messing up the stove and smelling up the house with company coming for dinner.  Got rid of the gasser, so I lost my side burner.  Pulled out the old turkey fryer and set it up on my prep table.  Looks like it will work just fine.  Food picks to follow.

Like your prep table, mine is a wine barrel with a piece of slate on top.

Not to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol is a solution...

What is the story with the prep table?

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

@skiddymarker, speaking of wounds, how is your heart after last night? That was stressful.

Table is my cracked base - old wound only took 4 days to heal - that's how long my warranty replacement took to get here.  Top is a 30 inch patio table top, cement with mosaic top.  works great.

Assume you mean the Habs and Bruins, it was intense. Even my kids called home asking how Dad was doing.....great game

@Tjcoley‌ I think I'd rig that a little lower and fish that hose thru the vent and make that permanent. Good thinking!

    Chicken turned out great.

@greg345 - not a bad thought.  Will have to look at that.

    Pretty nice looking FC.
The only issue I could see with setting the burner into the base is trying to clean the splatter. Your set-up catches everything on your work surface. Easy to wipe off.

@skiddymarker, yep. I was ready to puke when that puck rolled across the crease behind Price.
