I figured such a great looking piece of meat needed a complex recipe that will really bring out the flavors. First, I rubbed it down with steak sauce so that my 17 ingredient rub would stick. I'm going to start it off with a sear on the gasser then finish it in a 400 degree oven.
If you believe any of that, I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you...
I'll let the pics do the talking.

My wife asked what was wrong when she saw the look on my face! Very funny... Once that baby is cut and ready to roll, slather it in ketchup and you will be stylin'.

I'm considering ordering an Easter ham from SRF, we usually do honey baked, but after I found out the filet I had from a hibachi place was SRF I want to try more SRF products.
I almost ordered a superbowl package they offered, but didn't pull the trigger. I regret it, lol. -
Soooo good...easily the best brisket I've ever cooked. Second best brisket I've ever had behind only Franklin about 2 weeks ago. Amazing the product they turn out cooking at the scale they do.
The point was excellent like always, but the flat was at a whole new level. Super moist and flavorful.
The biggest issue I see is that this will spoil me on future brisket cooks.Austin, TX -
Looks good from what I can see. Pics are tad dark so it's hard to see the cross section.Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....

If the friggin' Gubmint wasn't lurking on Tuesday I would give the SRF brisket a shot. Need to recover from the pain and then give it a go. Most eggcellent cook! Enjoy the eats!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Good god are the shipping rates high on that website. If I'm going to spend $165 on two Briskets, how are you going to charge me $80 to ship it? Re-Donk!Large and Small BGECentral, IL

Was reading the beginning of this thread and was all like...gasser, 400℉, steak sauce, 17 ingredients, oven! Aargh!...Why!? Why?! Lol!
Wish I could see the end product a bit better. But, I'm sure it rocked.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL -
Sorry for the crappy pics, was using my phone and by no means am I a good photographer.
It was easily the best brisket I've ever cooked and will definitely do it again in the future. The price is high, but worth it for a special occasion.Austin, TX
