I just got a BGE for Christmas. So I am at best a novice. I gonna try to cook some ABT's. So far this forum has helped me out beyond belief! Thanks! I am looking for a good recipe and fool proof instructions for ABT's.

By far the best results I've had with ABT's

I think the best are the simplest. Split the jalapeno, stuff with regular cream cheese, butterfly and half cook Chorizo sausage and split to top the cream cheese and wrap with room temp bacon, top with a rub if you like. No toothpicks needed.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Made these... they were outstanding and seemed to be a little easier to prep than the ABTs

ShadowNik's video mentions use gloves....that is a must! Made the mistake of not using them when I cleaned out 20 jalapenos for my first ABT's. Ouch!! I use latex, works great.Opelika, Alabama

+1 on don't forget the gloves.Griffin's blog post shadownick referenced pretty much has the method covered. I usually just use some Jimmy Dean sausage. I like the maple flavor...gives it some sweet to match the heat.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Very important DON'T forget the gloves. You don't want certain apendages to burn later on. You thinnk after forgetting the gloves once you would never make that mistake again...but you will.

Less hot than a jalepeno. Anaheims are pretty low on the pepper scale.

Anaheims are pretty tame, but also much bigger than jalapenos. I've done them a time or two before. If you are really brave (or stupid), make some with habanero peppers. I've done that ONCE. Only ONCE and never again. Hell, I'm not even really sure why I decided to grow them that year.

Cream and cheddar cheese and a large shrimp. For a rememorable super bowl shave your nether region and don't use the gloves. .Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

+1 on the shrimp. -1 on the nether region. I like a piece of pineapple as well. I had best luck with shrimp that were previously frozen and only about half thawed so they didn't over cook while everything else came together. Plan lots of prep time. These seems to take me a good amount of time to clean, fill, wrap etc.Mt Elgin Ontario - just a Large.
