Brisket Win (No Pics)

I posted a couple of weeks ago looking for help since I had been asked to cook a brisket for my shift Christmas party and had never cooked one before. I did a practice brisket that was okay but not up to my "share with people" standard. I got some excellent feedback and advice from you guys and I cooked a 14 pound packer for the party Saturday. It was awesome. Moist and tender with an excellent bark. I was not able to get any pictures because I was cooking on duty so it couldn't have really happened. But when the food line started, the brisket disappeared. Luckily, I sampled it while carving and I was very happy with the results. One of my guys even asked me how much I would charge him to cook him one if he bought another one. Many thanks to everyone who helped steer me in the right direction.

That's the best thing about cooking for others. Makes you feel good about sharing when you get compliments. Nice one!

  • This one was a Sam's club choice brisket. $2.48lb and I picked the most flexible one they had. I think I read that from someone on the forum. Very pleased. Now I hope to duplicate the results soon so I might actually get a full serving.
