VisionGrill Classic P series (mini knock-off)

I remember this thread sometime back on this mini ceramic grill & am just curious how people who purchased one of these are still liking them? This grill really caught my attention and I'd really like to know how well it compares to the BGE Mini. I want to hear from all these Vision Classic P owners and see if they have any regrets on not just saving up and going with the BGE Mini.
Let's hear it.

I have both and they are comparable. The vision actually holds a little more and the band is nicer and it has shelves but the mini egg is more sturdy and the DFMT is built better. For the price I paid the vision is great but for the $220 Costco is asking now I would get a demo mini for the extra $100.

i only have the vision kub so cant really compare it, BUT, if that deal came around again i would get a second for camp. i really like the mini vision kub, the daisy sticks but i can get by with that and the 300 dollars i saved over a mini egg.i bought a tip top temp controller for it, havent done an overnight cook with it but have run it over night at 220 and the temps did hold til morning, about 10 hours with one load
some cooks with it
baked apple
lamb pie
deep dish chicago pizzas

@fishlessman those are some beautiful looking cooks! Can you tell me more about that lamb pie? It looks killer!Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

No regrets on the KUB. No regrets on the BGE. No regrets on the Lodge Sportsman. It's all good, I love cooking on them all! When I'm not Eggin', I'm scootin' Eggin' and 'cueing from Temecula Ca; an hour from San Diego, an hour and five minutes from Palm Springs, and an hour and a half from Los Angeles (yeah, right. With THAT traffic?)

i did a bunch of different pies that week and i believe that was lamb but it could be beef and veal. i just wing them with some finely chopped salt pork, onions, zatar seasoning, sometimes peppers and pour some chicken stock in right before closing them up. hard to mess up meat pies, even fill them with thick chili sometimes
these ones done the same way with pie crust on top and some stewed tomatoes added

I wonder since the Eggs aren't a smooth surface,,, what kinda seal you'd get? I'd think you would need an airtight seal in order for that thing to work as intended. Just my opinion. My PitMaster IQ120 FREAKIN ROCKS!!!!!!! Current BGE arsenal: XL & MiniMax

seems to work fine on the kub and it fits loose on it, i think the metal weber needs a tighter seal as the temp fluctuates more on them. dont think he had other sizes when i bought it last springfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Are these Kub grills worth the current Costco price of $220?My PitMaster IQ120 FREAKIN ROCKS!!!!!!! Current BGE arsenal: XL & MiniMax

I found my mini BGE for $200 used. IMHO, I think I would shop around a little before I paid $220 for a different brand.SBGE December 2012 • XLBGE December 2013 • Yoder YS640 JulyLocation: Jasper, Georgia

seeing that cosco will give you your money back if it breaks down the road and that vision has a good warranty (not sure if that warranty covers a cosco sold grill) that 220 isnt bad compared to 400, i cant get past that 400 dollar price tag on a minifukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

The KUB works fine. It is nice if you just want to do a small cook. I got mine from a place online for around $130, and Vision won't honor the warranty. So as long as it doesn't break I will be happy.

I purchased the mini Vision and I absolutely love it. I bought it at Costco and when I'm alone and don't want to fire up the BGE to make dinner for myself or 2 - it's does the trick just fine. It's a great little grill and small enough that I don't waste so much charcoal to make a steak or a chicken!
