Off Topic: Tailgating in College Station

We are heading over to Texas A&M on Friday to go to the SMU game this weekend.  We've never been to a game there.  I've read the rules online about when you can set up, take down, etc.  Tailgating as I recall it involves parking on asphalt and setting up stuff around your car/van/RV.  From what I can gather, in College Station it involves setting up a canopy on grass in specified locations.  I'm not familiar with the local geography so the locations don't mean much to me. Does anybody here have any good advice/thoughts?
