Under egg spacers in a table

Saw this used on a friends table, sorry no pics - did not have phone with me. 
He used 5 of them about 1" inside the circumference of the egg base. 
As the egg is in a table, it can't fall off the spacers, seems like a great idea to me. Available in 1/2", 3/4" heights. He used the 1/2" size. provides an air gap between egg base and table.
