Thought this thread already existed, but a Search didn't reveal it, so I'm starting one (I have a hunch that grilling/barbeque and motorcycles go together, even if you can't haul even a Small... )
This is my first bike:
Yamaha FZ-6, bought her in 2007, absolutely love her, but the legroom is very tight (I'm 6'5") and can only ride her 90 minutes before having to quit.  I want to spend more time exploring the backroads throughout the West, and wanted another bike with more comfort.

Yesterday I bought a new steed, a 16,000-miles, 2009 BMW R1200-GS:
She came with a lot of extras, ABS, electronic-adjustable suspension, Akrapovic muffler, aluminum sidebags, two extra sets of tires, and heated grips.  She's gonna be fun!

For 13 years I rode a Honda St1100 and then last spring I treated myself to this BMW R1200RT.  This photo was taken about the third day I had it.  We went on a three week holiday to Newfoundland on it and had a great time.

I have a 2004 Yamaha VStar 1100 Classic that doesn't see to much action anymore. Just way to busy but hopefully that will change this summer Here is a pic of me and the wife in the Smokies

@Charlie -are you an antique collector? I have 4 old Allis Chamlers, 2 were my dad's, 1 was my grandad's and the other was my great uncle's. My grandad's and uncles were bought at the same time with the serial numbers only being 2 apart.

They are definitely near and dear to me. I have 2 tri-cycle front end CA, a wide front end CA and a D15. All the CA's have the original cultivators with them.

If I were to hazard a guess the video wasn't taken on a Vespa, the Vespa was probably following this bike.  I don't know for sure but my guess is this is a Japanese cruiser of some description.  The sound of the bike and the fact that the rider is shifting gears makes me think it is not a Vespa and the handle bar and speedo point to cruiser and it doesn't sound like a Harley so my guess is Japanese.  On the other hand I could be all wet on this.

The video is nice, love the scenery, no crazy riding that many GoPro type videos seem to promote and the sound is good without being drowned out by wind.  I would wear gloves though, I have been hit by flying gravel and it hurts even with gloves.

Ooops, it sounded smoother than most Harleys.  I couldn't hear that rhythm that is associated with Harley, I'll go get my hearing checked.

That's because it's a 1200 Sportster custom. First paint shaker was an 883 with a 1200 kit then a Dyna. Since '97, it has been a Yamaha Virago 1100. Two wheels is good, even the ones that say potato, potato, potato.

    Never seen a Vespa with a V-twin.

I used to have an old 1970 Vespa.  Got my worst case of road rash losing control of a wheelie on it.  Wore it like a man badge of honor.  I was a young, reckless lad.  Now I'm an old, reckless lad. :D

  • Ride less after retirement than before. Current ride is R11 RT, wife currently rides an F650 thumper with Ural hack. A 83 R100 airhead is getting ready to ride, but yesterday the fuel tank must have leaked out the gas and with only 70 miles on the tank, it died. A mile is a long walk home pushing. Tank needs phosphoric acid anyway and then find if petcock is leaking and then go for another ride.
Has anyone rigged an egg trailer? Head down the road with a cloud of wood chunk smoke.
