You must try a mild salsa with some chapped tatties or bashed neeps. Salsa is a great condiment, opens up your taste buds to the extent you might enjoy something a tad hotter, but if not, that's fine too. 

By mild, I mean mild - look for the mildest you can find. Tostitos makes a super mild, or make your own, it is quite simple.

My Grandmother used to make rumblethumps that always made me hide to avoid dinner. 

It is all good - give it a try, but it does take some getting used to, much like a Black and Tan.
