OT - I'm Thankful Thanksgiving Leftovers are GONE!
I bet you thought I was talking about turkey or dressing! Nope. This is about houseguests. I love my mother-in-law. We flew her in from south Florida a couple of WEEKS ago and she flew home last night. While she's here anything can happen. Last spring she was here, I came home from work and was surprised to see a painting jobsite. She thought we needed to re-paint our kitchen and living room so she put a roller in my hand! This time around she re-organized our bedroom closet (not too many skeletens), our kitchen (can't find a thing now!) and MY spice cabinet! She says to my wife, "Why does he need all those bottles and did you see the price tag on that 'dizzy something'? It cost $10 a piece!"
Goodbye Mama! We'll see you next summer!

If my MOL pulled any of that she wouldn't be allowed back...by my wife .Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

You are more tolerant than I. I'm sure your wife appreciates it.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

House guests, family included, are the same as fresh fish, both have a limited shelf life - usually less than three or four days. Two weeks is a long time to have an overactive "meddler" in the house - you Sir are a Saint.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Two weeks was nothing compared to six weeks last spring! God rewarded me with my first Egg right after she left. The Lord works in mysterious and wonderful ways!Flint, Michigan

Bedroom closet? That's pretty personal. I'm pretty tolerant, but after that I'd read her the riot act then throw her in a hotel. You're a better man than me.

Wilma has no family here and very little elsewhere. Have to put on a plastic smile, grit my teeth and gut it out. I never miss a day at work while she's here!Flint, Michigan

I hear ya. I probably wouldn't throw her out, but I would set some boundaries, like ask for permission before starting a project. Or suggest projects - like dig a hole for the new swimming pool....
