Caramelizing Mustard?

I'm inviting over a couple of veteran buddies this Sunday for a thank you bbq. In getting prepared, I thought up a question that I am dying to experiment with. However, I don't know if I'll have time to try it before the guys show up.
Has anyone ever caramelized (glazed) on a south carolina style mustard sauce? Is it even possible?
